For a long time I have looking for a suitable book to review here in Fagis Weblog. Listening to my favorite radio channel on swr 3 on my way home from school I found it - Klaus Sturm's book tipp: John Updike's latest novel Terrorist. Five years after 9/11 an American writer has probably written the ultimate novel on this traumatic disaster which has so terribly traumatized America ever since. "This marvelous novel can be accurately labeled as a 9/11 novel, but it deserves also the label of masterpiece for its carefully nuanced building up of the psychology of those who traffic in terrorism. Timely and topical, poised and passionate, it is a high mark in Updike's career, writes Brad Hooper (Copyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved - retrieved Oct 25-2006).
What America - and maybe the whole Western World needs - is an understanding about the hate this country has caused in the Arabian Hemisphere. Maybe Updike' novel can help. As soon as I have read it I will review it here. Gi
